Turkish Airlines Fluggastrechte durchsetzen

Und es ist schon wieder passiert. Diesmal mit Turkish Airlines. Die gesamte Reise stand schon unter keinen guten Stern. Sie begann mit einer Annullierung des Rückflugs drei Wochen vor Antritt der Reise. Klever gemacht von Turkish Airlines, rechtzeitig vor Regressansprüche der Passagiere. Einen Tag früher nach Hause, das war schon ärgerlich, aber in dem Fall nicht zu ändern. Doch die abenteuerliche Reise mit Türkish Airlines begann erst. Auf dem Weg nach Mombasa gab es einen Zwischenstopp in Istanbul. Der Flug von Berlin startete pünktlich, endete aber in einer Endlosschleife kreisend über dem Istanbuler Flughafen. Eine Stunde Verspätung, die Folge. Die Verzögerung hatte in diesen Augenblick erst einmal keine weiteren Konsequenzen, denn der Anschlussflug nach Mombasa, fand erst Stunden später statt und hatte, welch Überraschung, ebenfalls eine halbe Stunde Verspätung. Nächster Stopp war dann Mount Kilimanjaro. Dort sollte es in 40 Minuten weitergehen. Ging es aber nicht. Probleme mit den Papieren verzögerte den Weiterflug nach Mombasa. Ankunft mit insgesamt 1,5 Stunden Verspätung. Leider zu wenig, um Turkish Airlines in Regress zu ziehen. Doch es gab ja noch einen Rückflug. Auch dieser verlief alles andere als reibungslos. Am Flughafen Mombasa herrschte das totale Chaos bei der Gepäckabfertigung. Für die Abfertigung eines Koffers benötigten die Turkish Airlines Mitarbeiter 30 Minuten. 40 Minuten Verspätung war die Folge, die sich noch während des Fluges auf eine Stunde addierte. Damit war mein Anschlussflug nach Berlin futsch und Turkish Airlines buchten mich auf einen späteren Flug um. Ankunft in Berlin mit fast 5 Stunden Verspätung. Darüber hinaus wer der Koffer auch noch weg. Mit einer solchen Verzögerung muss sich allerdings kein Passagier abfinden. Doch bisher waren mir Fluggastrechte nur von europäischen Fluggesellschaften bekannt. Wie ist das nun bei Turkish Airlines? Jedoch, ein Blick auf die Webseite von Turkish Airlines verrät so einiges. Hier werden die Fluggastrechte, wenn auch etwas versteckt, ganz deutlich beschrieben. Im Großen und Ganzen sind die Fluggastrechte bei Turkish Airlines mit den üblichen europäischen Rechten identisch. Natürlich macht es auch Turkish Airlines dem verärgerten Fluggast nicht sonderlich einfach, seine Rechte einzufordern. Eine direkte Anlaufstelle für Fluggastrechte gibt es bei Turkish Airlines nicht. Die Forderung muss ganz normal über das Feedbackformular eingereicht werden. Leider wird als Sprache nur Türkisch oder Englisch akzeptiert. Hier mein Schreiben in meinem bescheidenen Englisch, was aber offensichtlich seitens Turkish Airlines verstanden wurde:

Compensation payment according to Passenger Rights of Turkish Airlines

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hereby request a compensation payment in accordance with your Passenger Rights for the following passenger:

Hendrik Lorenz

XXXXX Berlin

I claim a compensation payment for flight TK571 from Mombasa to Istanbul on 04.14.2018. The flight was delayed 1 hour. Thereby it was not possible to reach the connecting flight TK1725 from Istanbul to Berlin Tegel. The reason for the delay were problems in the organizational flow of the flight. No higher Violence or extraordinary circumstances. I was transferred to flight TK1723 and reached my Destination with a delay of 4 hours and 50 minutes. About this distance and with a delay of 4 hours and 50 minutes, i demand a compensation of 400 euros.
Please transfer the amount to the following account within the next 2 weeks:

Es dauerte nur ein paar Tage bis mich diese Antwort von Turkish Airlines erreichte:

Dear Mr. Hendrik LORENZ,

We have received your message dated 25th of April, 2018.
 
First of all, we ask for you to accept our regret at the unpleasant situation you have experienced, and we apologize for not getting you to the final destination on your ticket on time.
 
In the case that one of our flights is delayed, we facilitate free-of-charge the transport of our passengers who have not been able to make it to the connecting flight listed on the same ticket to the final destination listed on their ticket.
 
In our investigation, it has been determined that on 14th of April 2018, your TK 571 Mombasa to Istanbul flight was conducted with;

    • 31 minutes delay due to Aircraft documentation late or inaccurate

    • 9 minutes delay due to restriction at the airport of departure


and that your reservation was changed to facilitate your journey via TK 1723 Istanbul to Berlin Tegel on 14th of April 2018.

We would like to state that we strive to eliminate such undesirable unpleasant situations. Your feedback is of guidance to us toward improving our services in this regard. Sending to us your views both positive and negative after every one of your flights would, without a doubt, lead us toward providing better service.In order to cover your loss and meet your expectations, we have issued EMD in the amount of  600.00  Euros

Erstaunlicherweise wurden mir sogar noch 200 Euro mehr zugesprochen, da mein Reiseplan direkt von Mombasa aus berücksichtigt wurde und nicht erst von Istanbul, wo der Anschlussflug verpasst wurde. So einfach kann gehen. Viele Reisende scheuen die Einforderung der Fluggastrechte. Das Aufsetzen des Schreibens und die Recherche hat mich eine Stunde gekostet. Für 600 Euro kein schlechter Stundenlohn.
